Body Shop Estimator Responsibilities
- Assess and estimate the cost of repairs for damaged vehicles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify all necessary repairs and replacements.
- Prepare detailed and itemized estimates, including parts, labor, and materials required for each repair.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters, customers, and repair technicians to discuss repair options, obtain approvals, and answer any related inquiries.
- Utilize industry-standard software and tools to document and track estimates, repairs, and work progress.
- Maintain effective communication and build strong relationships with insurance providers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
- Stay updated with industry trends, repair techniques, and manufacturer specifications to provide accurate estimates and recommendations.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and processing billing information.

Body Shop Estimator Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to use CCC1 and Mitchell estimating systems.
- Proven experience as a Collision Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures, parts, and labor costs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, insurance adjusters, and repair technicians.
