Job Purpose
The Field Technical Manager (FTM) supports the Powersports dealer network to enhance Honda brand value, ensuring customer and dealer satisfaction. The FTM contributes to customer retention and repurchase of Honda Powersports products through in-person and TechLine support for dealerships, promptly reporting technical issues for further review by the ASX team.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide in-person technical support to protect customers, dealers, and the Honda brand, reducing lemon law risks.
- Resolve product issues in collaboration with Customer Service and Tech Line, reporting issues and resolutions to ASX.
- Support Techline by handling inbound calls during scheduled shifts.
- Administer customer goodwill and manage warranty claims.
- Provide manpower for warehouse projects, special investigations, or other events as needed.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- High School graduate, VoTech, Trade School, or Powersports mechanics technical training.
- Associates' degree in Business Management desired.
- Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a Powersports dealership (service operations or management).
- Extensive experience in Powersports product repair and servicing.
Working Conditions
This position reports to the Power Sports Aftersales Experience Division at the American Honda Manufacturing Facility in Timmonsville, SC. It requires up to 75% travel, long-distance driving (up to 50,000 miles/year), and overnight hotel stays. TechLine duties are scheduled, and the position may be based at the ASX office or the associate’s home. The role involves visiting Honda dealerships of various sizes and conditions, extensive customer interaction, motivating dealership personnel, and heavy computer and phone communication.
