Job Purpose
Technician role critical to the building, installing, and completing system up and maturation activity for production equipment and new model tooling at all auto plants across North America. Support new technology and technology transfer from Japan/NA development teams into production across North America production facilities. Provide production and/or emergency support related to manufacturing issues in support of production.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensures equipment and/or software installation is accurate with limited oversight by more senior Technician/project leader.
- Coaches, mentors, and reviews the work performed by less experienced technicians assigned to jobs by guiding the technician through install, troubleshooting or die repair process.
- Proactively looks for/identifies potential for process and quality improvement and calls attention of Leadership and can independently recommend countermeasures or solutions and implement as approved.
- High involvement in execution of new model activities, as assigned, in support of the project leader and/or Leadership.
- Manages activities such as running checks, tests, trials, etc.
- Utilizes assistance of other technicians and contractors assigned to the job, as appropriate.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Successful completion of Technician Development Program or Equivalent Experience
Minimum Experience
- 3 or More Years of Relevant Experience (Equipment Manufacturing)
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Effective communication, under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes
Working Conditions
Manufacturing Plant environment working in various Honda & supplier plants within all departments. Work on automated production equipment & robotics. Work with suppliers & contractors. Physical demands are general machine assembly, light lifting, working in pits or on mezzanines. Requires frequent travel to job site locations within North America and weekend/holiday support, occasional off shift requirements, and can average 8-10 hours of OT weekly.
