Job Purpose
This role is responsible for on/off-boarding of all New Hires, Contractors and Co-ops working in PEBU. The goal of our onboarding program is to provide a seamless and good first impression of Honda Production Engineering and set up all necessary information and equipment for new hires, contractors and co-ops needed to be successful in their roles at PEBU. This role will make key decisions around the program and manage the day-to-day activity for the program.

Key Accountabilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for all new hires, contractors and Co-ops on-boarding activities including delivering presentations, documentation, and coordinating events.
  • Support hiring managers with administrative tasks such as setting up PC, badge access, parking, uniforms, locker, safety equipment, etc.
  • Continuously reflect on new hire, contractor and Co-op survey feedback, implement correlated countermeasures as required and roll-out/share program changes to management.
  • Collaborate with management to set direction and lead execution of program needs including orientation, tours, handouts, and rewards.
  • Lead Onboarding business plan initiatives.
  • Make informed decisions about Program improvements by gathering feedback from PEBU leadership and hiring managers.
  • Daily management and approvals of PEBU Onboarding SharePoint site, document updates, creation and sign-off.
  • Ensure comprehensive onboarding, offboarding process at PEBU and manage welcome package content.
  • Support other tasks such as: managing contractor invoice approval process with management teams, office supply ordering, and travel documentation support.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
  • Associate degree in technical or business areas or equivalent related experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience, with ideally 5 years of experience in Honda, knowledge of Honda (preferred knowledge of on-boarding & orientation activities desired), organization, and role expectations.
  • Including experience of supporting multi organizational themes and projects.
  • Problem solving analysis.
  • Knowledge of Honda Tools, Resources, PEBU Organization.
  • Planning and PDCA.
  • Presenting / public speaking.
  • Customer Service Oriented; High networking position.
  • Strong knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Decisions Expected
  • Learning lesson investigations to establish ideal training for onboarding.
  • Evaluate hiring manager effort required to prepare and execute new associate onboarding and propose efficiency improvements.
  • Creation of onboarding experiences to learn more about Honda holistically and prepare associates for their role – Welcome presentations, tours, self-learning programs, etc.
  • Establish manpower learning programs based on manpower type.

Working Conditions
  • 5% travel within North America, minimal OT.
  • High volume of walking and talking.
  • Willingness and capability to go to the spot and talk to people, external Honda, external PEBU, and internal PEBU.
  • Primarily office work.
  • Hybrid work, estimated 80% on-site and 20% virtual.
