Description
Purpose : To keep displays, coolers and shelves fully stocked and rotated. Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service.
Status : $16.50, 24 hours / week, closing shifts required, nights and a weekend day required.
Supervisor : Produce Manager
Job Responsibilities :
Receiving :
- Assist with deliveries
- Help with unloading as needed
- Assist with stocking and rotation of backstock
- In the absence of the Produce Receiver : Check in and sign for deliveries. Note any discrepancies, product damages or adjustments on the invoice.
Prep :
Wash / soak, trim, bundle, and package wet produce for displaysSort, weigh, and label dry items for displaysStore extra products in boxes / bins or tubs. Label contentsAs needed, clean / sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinksAs needed remove trashAs needed flatten boxes and take to cardboard balerStocking :
Cull, rotate, and replenish displays following established stocking prioritiesDispose of damaged or spoiled product promptly, after notifying produce managementKeep produce retail, prep, and storage areas in a clean, orderly conditionClean cases and shelf displaysPay attention to potential floor hazards such as wet floor areas or food on the floorAs needed, clean / sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinksAs needed remove trashAs needed flatten boxes and take to cardboard balerLabel items accurately with price tagsCheck signage for correct PLU, price, and originReport any shrink and pricing anomalies as per department proceduresCustomer Service :
Assist customers with questions in a prompt, friendly, courteous manner. If you cannot answer their questions, find another staff member to assist themOffer samples, menu ideas and suggestions for preparationRecord and process special orders according to department proceduresClosing :
Leave produce retail, prep and storage areas in a clean and orderly conditionCompost spoiled product according to department proceduresClean / sanitize surfaces, utensils, buckets, and sinksRemove trashFlatten boxes and take to cardboard balerWash and dry prep room floorProperly store / cover refrigerated produce as per department proceduresBring any plants / products from sales floor to produce coolerLock gates for outdoor plant area.Special tasks :
