What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Honey Creek Resort?
We are currently hiring Bartenders to work in our Moravia, IA location. We are looking to build our year-round team.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
General Responsibilities
Serves food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests responsibly, in accordance with the Company’s alcohol policies.
Essential Functions:
· Provides excellent guest service.
· Greets and welcomes guests with a smile and positive attitude, suggesting specials and menu items.
· Receives drink and food orders from patrons or servers.
· Serves alcoholic beverages responsibly, requests identification, adheres to all unit and company alcohol policies and procedures.
· Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons following standard recipes and using company standardized proportions; serves wine and bottled beer or draws draught beer.
· Enters drink orders into cash register, collects payment from patrons for drinks served and makes correct change.
· Complete knowledge of POS system, guest check procedures, collection of monies for full payment of checks, credit card operations.
· Completes Daily Bar Sales Report accurately.
· Maintains bar stock by ordering or requisitioning liquors, beverages, condiments and supplies.
· Keeps the bar neat and clean and displays glasses and liquors attractively.
· Performs opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Responsible for maintaining pleasant atmosphere in bar, refusing to serve intoxicated or unruly patrons, and obeying all company, state and federal guidelines for alcohol service.
· Utilizes protective equipment (when necessary)
· Reports substandard (unsafe) conditions to supervisor.
· Reports accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to supervisor.
· Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security policies and procedures.
Non-Essential Functions:
· Assist other staff members, departments and any guests when needed.
· Attend departmental meetings as directed by F&B Manager
· Cross train in numerous positions to fill any voids throughout the food and beverage division when needed.
Education & Experience:
· One to two years previous experience as a bartender in a high-volume environment – preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Excellent guest service skills.
· Ability to complete required pre-employment sanitation and alcohol service training.
· Basic math skills, with ability to accurately total guests check and make correct change.
· Possess basic knowledge of standard drink recipes and alcohol brand names.
· Strong communication skills, including listening skills and ability to take beverage orders and fill those orders correctly.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to remain standing for entire length of shift.
· Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
· Ability to lift stock up-to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Environmental Working Conditions:
· Bar environment – noise level may be moderate to high during busy times.
