Job Title: Lifeguard
REPORTS TO: Hospitality Manager
General Responsibilities
Supervision of Aquatics Facility to ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Exemplifies the 10 Universal Service Standards and provides excellent guest service.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Maintains an orderly, friendly, clean, and safe environment for guests, co-workers and general public.
· Monitors and scans the area during an assigned shift.
· Ensures public safety by monitoring assigned areas, preventing aquatic emergencies, and rescuing people.
· Anticipates, recognizes, and acts to remedy aquatic emergencies.
· Administers professional first responder medical emergency treatment (CPR and/or First Aid), until additional medical assistance is available.
· Utilizes rescue equipment during emergencies.
· Prepares necessary reports.
· Ensures proper use of aquatic facilities.
· Performs cleaning tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
· Adheres to work schedule and hours assigned.
· Documents and guest/employee injuries properly and accurately.
Competencies:
· Demonstrates swimming skills. (Swimming skills are defined as being able to swim 200 yards, tread water for 2 minutes and swim in 12 feet of water.)
· Demonstrates an understanding of life-saving techniques to include the knowledge and ability to administer professional medical emergency treatment until additional professional assistance arrives.
· Demonstrates and understanding of team decision-making process.
· Demonstrates and ability to anticipate, recognize, and manage an aquatic emergency.
· Demonstrates and ability to learn, apply and follow the mission, functions, policies, procedures, and services of Honey Creek Resort by Achieva Inc.
· Demonstrates and ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, and carrying of light objects for varying periods of time.
· Demonstrates an ability to pay attention to detail and ability to think, reason, and act quickly.
· Demonstrates an ability to effectively listen, speak, write, and interact with the public and within work groups of diverse backgrounds.
· Demonstrates an ability to provide quality customer service through dedication to public service.
Requirements:
· Must possess swimming skills. (Swimming skills are defined as being able to swim 200 yards, tread water for 2 minutes and swim in 12 feet of water.)
· Must pass lifeguard training class approved by the Department before employment and maintain current lifeguard licensure (including CPR and Frist Aid certification) to continue employment.
· Ability to speak in a language other than English a plus (not a requirement)
· Proof of certification and Licensure must be submitted to the hiring authority upon conditional job offer.
· Swimming skills will be evaluated upon conditional job offer.
· Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in order to meet the needs of the resort.

Pay: From $12.00 per hour
