What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmers Market Manager position at Honey Field Farm?
The market coordinator/manager is responsible for preparing for and operating our busy booth at the Norwich Farmers Market April - December. This position involves marketing elements of creating eye catching signage, strategizing sales and displays, and designing inviting displays each week at market. This role undertakes market preparations each week prior to market, and then assists in coordinating the retail team to set up the booth, provide great customer service and break down the display each Saturday. This position can be combined with others to make a part- or full-time schedule.
- Prepare plants, hardgoods and supplies for market
- Maintain market prep checklist to use weekly and train other employees how to update and interact with the list
- Assist customers with checkout and inquiries about the farm/our products
- Plan and design setup/layout of produce and other products
- Set-up and breakdown market tent and display
- Design and hand draw large chalkboard signs weekly advertising sales or upcoming farm events
- Design and hand draw individual price tags weekly, develop system to digitize these beautiful designs
- Communicate with field lead and wash/pack lead to be prepared for market
- All of the above
- Assist Valerie and Eli in creating written SOPs to streamline market processes, including weekly prep, market day tasks and roles, breakdown process, etc.
- Train Farmers Market Assistants on how to use Square, give good customer service, and display produce
- Compensation is based on skill and experience level, generally $18/hr - $22/hr

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
