What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greenhouse Worker position at Honey Field Farm?
In early spring the greenhouse production crew assists in transplanting and seeding annual and perennial bedding plants and organic vegetable and herb starts. Through the end of July the production team helps to water, prune, and maintain the beautiful greenhouses filled with life.
- Transplant flower and herb starts into packs, pots, and containers
- Seed flowers, veggies and herbs
- Plant maintenance, watering, pruning, and scouting for disease/pests
- Clean production areas and maintain organization
- Pull wholesale plant orders orders
- Plug in to other projects happening around the farm
- Cut flowers
- Seeding
- Transplanting
- Soil mix
- Infrastructure and equipment
- Annual plants
- Perennial plants
- Herbs and vegetable plants
- Scouting / IPM
- Wholesale plant orders
- Delivery driving
- Video, photography and content creation
- Plant merchandising and organization
- One year of greenhouse, gardening or farming experience preferred
- Ability to lift 30 pounds, do physically demanding work and repetitive tasks while standing for 8 hours per day
- Willingness to work outdoors/in greenhouses in any weather
- All farm-wide team member expectations
Compensation is based on skill and experience level, generally $16/hr - $18/hr
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
