Position Overview:
The Summer Camp Afternoon Group Closer is responsible for ensuring a smooth, organized, and positive end to the camp day. This position requires afternoon availability and involves preparing campers for departure, overseeing check-out procedures, and assisting with the cleanup and closing of camp spaces. The Afternoon Group Closer will help create a calm, welcoming environment as campers transition from the camp day to going home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Afternoon Check-Out: Ensuring an efficient check-out process keeping accurate student records.
- Supervise Departure: Monitor campers during the afternoon hours, engaging them in end-of-day activities while they wait for pick-up.
- Safety and Well-Being: Ensure campers’ safety and well-being during the closing hours and that any health-related concerns (e.g., allergies, medications) are properly addressed.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with the Camp Director and Closer regarding camper behaviors, incidents, or special notes from the day.
- Clean-Up and Organization: Tidy up camp spaces, put away supplies, and ensure the facility is ready for the next day.
- Encourage Positive Behavior: Foster a supportive and friendly atmosphere, helping campers end their day on a positive note.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist children for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry light to moderate items, such as camp supplies and materials.
Schedule:
- Shift Hours: 3:00pm to 6:00pm, for the duration of the summer camp session.
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- Tuesday, Thursday
- Monday-Friday

Requirements
Qualifications:
- 16
- Ability to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for elementary-aged students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- A friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work afternoon hours.
- Ability to stay calm and handle any unexpected situations that may arise.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required (will train upon hire).
