Position Overview: The Summer Camp Morning Group Opener is responsible for ensuring a smooth, organized, and positive start to the camp day. This position requires early morning availability and involves greeting campers, facilitating the check-in tracking and assisting with the preparation of activities and spaces. The Morning Group Opener will help foster a welcoming environment and set the tone for a successful camp day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Early Morning Check-In: Greet campers upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and efficient check-in process.
- Set-Up and Preparation: Prepare camp areas, including setting up supplies, equipment, and activity stations.
- Safety and Well-Being: Ensure that campers' safety needs are met as they arrive and that any health-related concerns (e.g., allergies, medications) are noted.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with the Camp Director and staff regarding any special instructions or changes for the day.
- Assist Families: Answer any questions from parents or guardians and provide guidance on drop-off, pickup, or other camp-related matters.
- Keep Camp Areas Clean: Assist with ensuring camp spaces are tidy and organized for the day’s activities.
- Encourage Positive Behavior: Set a positive example for campers and maintain a supportive, friendly atmosphere.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist children for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry light to moderate items, such as camp supplies and materials.
Schedule:
- Shift Hours: 6:45am to 9:30am, for the duration of the summer camp session.
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- Tuesday, Thursday
- Monday-Friday

Requirements
Qualifications:
- 16
- Ability to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for elementary-aged students.
- Experience working with students of various ages and managing group dynamics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, busy environment.
- A friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to start early in the morning.
- Ability to stay calm and handle any unexpected situations that may arise.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required (will train upon hire)
