Fresh, cheerful, and always delicious, Honey & Rye, a neighborhood bakery since 2013, is looking for an experienced, organized go-getter to help lead our front-of-house team!
Our Cafe Lead is responsible for supporting the successful and efficient performance of retail cafés including: providing effective leadership during shifts, assisting in daily café operations, and ensuring a high level of customer service while supporting the execution of priorities as directed by the company’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Reports to
Retail & Beverage Manager
Wages
starting at $15/hour tips (~$9/hour)
Schedule
32 - 40 hours per week, at least one weekend day required scheduling flexibility to accommodate holiday and business needs. Open shifts can start as early as 6:00 AM, closing shifts can finish as late as 5:15 PM.
Duties
Staff Leadership

*Delegate daily tasks to front-of-house staff as needed. *Help communicate management priorities to staff. *Take initiative to prioritize tasks as needed. *As directed by a manager, assist in the training of new employees. *Assist manager in communicating policy, procedural changes, or updates to staff. *Monitor completion of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. *Help create and maintain a positive work environment for staff. *Serve as manager on duty in the absence of the Retail & Beverage Manager.
Café Operations

*Take responsibility for successful daily operations. *Maintain clean, organized, and functional workspaces. *Assist in the maintenance of inventory, including placing orders and communicating orders to a manager. *Maintain familiarity with both in-house and retail products. *Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines. *Prioritize the optimal utilization of staff and resources. *In absence of a manager, make operational decisions as needed.
Customer Service

*Ensure efficient delivery of service while maintaining a warm and friendly experience for customers. *In absence of the manager, handle customer orders, concerns or complaints as needed. *Respond to service issues and report to management.
Requirements
