Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement behavior intervention plans and support their growth and development. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to document progress accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed professional.
- Collect and document data on client behaviors and progress in accordance with medical documentation standards.
- Assist clients in developing social skills and coping strategies to improve their daily functioning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, educators, and family members, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education and behavioral health.
Skills
- Knowledge of special education practices and principles related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining medical records confidentiality.
- Understanding of behavioral health concepts, including diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to behavioral health settings.
- Experience working with individuals who have autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated and organized in managing responsibilities.
