ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a versatile Field Service & Project Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and management of building automation, security, and fire protection systems. This role blends technical expertise with project coordination, ensuring seamless system implementation and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting while also being able to manage small-to-mid-sized projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
You will travel to customer sites in the Charlotte, NC area, and occasionally work out of the corporate office in Charlotte.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Management
- Oversee system installation projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and specifications are met.
- Work closely with electrical and mechanical contractors to align system integration efforts.
- Manage equipment deliveries, storage, and proper on-site installation.
- Coordinate with engineers and design teams to ensure the system meets project requirements.
- Maintain documentation, including change requests, work orders, and project reports.
Customer Support & Training
- Conduct system demonstrations and functional training sessions for customers.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, resolving issues efficiently.
- Assist sales teams with site surveys, system recommendations, and upgrade opportunities.
System Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, and test automation, security, and fire protection systems.
- Perform system startups, functional testing, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Integrate and communicate with third-party systems using various industry protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, LON, etc.).
