Summary
The Chemical Engineer III role is a professional level position performing complex engineering functions on assigned or initiated programs, projects, or sub-projects of a specific nature by applying advanced mathematical, physical science, and / or engineering technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design and / or project / process management of new and current products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment in collaboration with higher level technical experts.
- Develops test procedures and performs complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work.
- Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
- Defines and acquires tooling, gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture / inspect parts to assure product quality.
- Partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
- Initiates evaluation and provide input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.
- Recognized as an emerging subject matter expert within the business unit.
- Provides mentorship, advice, and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.
