In this role, you will support the development of on-site installation, servicing and repair processes of complex equipment and systems. You will provide technical presentations to an audience of customers, other industry peers and competitors. You will promote revision and correction of work instructions and customer-facing training guides used by field installation specialists. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives in the processes related to field services and product development.
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer I in the Longview, WA area.
The primary focus is to provide continuing service support for Honeywell’s QCS platforms used in Pulp and Paper in Oregon and Washington.
There is no physical office to report to. Work will be at customer sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Emergency Support maintenance of customers for various Honeywell Quality Control Systems.
- Troubleshoot and solve system and process related problems.
- Perform sensor verification and calibration.
- Publish critical reporting to customers including Monthly Performance, Results Reports, Correction Action Reports.
- Actively interface with customers at all levels. Ensures customer satisfaction through oral and written communication.
- Ability of continual self-development and learning.
The annual base salary range for this position is $72,600 - $90,700. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. MUST HAVE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 years Technology Experience preferred at a manufacturing site.
- Valid Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to Honeywell
- Ability to learn new technologies and disciplines
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex system or process problems.
- Be able to work effectively both individually and with a group without need of direct supervision.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, network diagrams, and P&IDs
- Mechanical aptitude is a must, this role is very hands on with industrial equipment at manufacturing sites.
- Project a positive and confident attitude focused on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
WE VALUE:

- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technology Discipline. (Mechanical Engineering is a big plus)
- Customer Service Skills
- Experience with other vendors such as ABB QCS platforms and equipment.
- Backgrounds in Process Control Systems, PLCs, or military.
