The Military Fixed Wing (MFW) Project Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer supporting the ITEC F124 & F125/TFE1042 family of turbofan engines. The team is in need of a strong Project Engineer to support F124/F125 engine production, Repair & Overhaul, and supplier transitions in support of on-time deliveries to our customers.
To meet the needs of the marketplace in the face of stiff competition, the team must rapidly develop new engines to be the best in the marketplace through execution of world class project management. The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional engineering team to support major engine systems to be best-in market under strict schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development activity of the engine system through all aspects of the Honeywell IPDS process on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
- Key aspects include requirements validation and verification, resolution of key technical challenges, acquisition of hardware, management of fabrication cost and execution of qualification tasks.
- Broad indirect span of control of approximately 5-10 full time equivalent engineers with peak execution periods of >15 . Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $5M-$8M or more.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Expected to serve as a leader for the product lines’ production and R&O
- Knowledge to support engine line production, drawing changes, Build of Material (BOM) updates and other support related activities.
