This role is a full time, working on-site position.
An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Catalyst Scientist within Honeywell UOP’s R&D Catalysis Applications and Fundamentals group at our laboratories located in Des Plaines, IL. This position provides a unique opportunity to synthesize and improve catalyst formulations to advance new catalyst product prototypes for UOP’s existing and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare experimental plans for catalyst synthesis and testing operations under the assistance of senior staff. Build and provide expertise in areas of catalyst synthesis chemistry and equipment operation.
- Perform basic laboratory operations for preparing catalysts such as solution preparation, wet chemical catalyst treatments, operation of laboratory ovens and furnaces, grinding, and particle sizing.
- Implement catalyst preparation improvements, new capabilities, and operational changes with assistance from senior staff and project teams while following management of change protocols.
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper copies of information pertaining to the performed experiments including laboratory notebooks, research reports, and other documents.
- Provide summaries of results – both verbally and in written form – and discuss these with senior staff and project teams.
- Observe and maintain monthly Safety Management System requirements.
- Build expertise in the areas of chemical synthesis, leading to future leadership in catalyst preparation capability improvements.

The annual base salary range for this position is $65,500 - $81,900. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
