This position is based in Phoenix, AZ but can also be performed in Greer, SC, Torrance, CA, Minneapolis, MN, Clearwater, FL or South Bend, IN.
This role will be based out of Honeywell’s Phoenix NDT Lab. The NDT engineer will work with a team of engineers and technicians to support non-destructive test engineering inspection on a variety of Honeywell products, both mechanical and electrical in nature. Primary responsibilities will be in support of Honeywell NDT supplier base to ensure compliance with processes and procedures.
You will work closely with the global NDT special process team to provide engineering support for Honeywell’s suppliers, develop inspection methods, advance NDT technologies and method automation, and provide documentation support for drawing and spec changes, among other things. Aspects of the job include planning, coordinating, and communicating (verbal and written) NDT results to a broad customer base ranging from raw material Suppliers to the Aftermarket partners that support maintenance activities on Honeywell’s various Aerospace product lines. Beyond the primary supplier responsibilities, you will support the NDT lab conducting NDT inspections and providing engineering support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply NDE techniques to existing and advanced Honeywell Aerospace products
- Oversee Honeywell NDT supplier base of assigned techniques to ensure compliance with processes and procedures
- Provide production, supplier, and field support as required
- Provide support to Project and Design groups for new and existing programs
- Work with the applicable engine program to develop field inspection techniques and train personnel at aftermarket inspection facilities
- Responsible for Procedure and Report writing
- Responsible for Specification and Standards writing
- Approving new equipment and maintaining current equipment
- Assist in training personnel for certification purposes
- Participate in externally funded NDE Development programs
- Participate in industry committees to enhance Honeywell’s position with NDE Standards (SAE, AIA, ASTM, Nadcap, Etc.)
- Hands on operation of Computed Tomography equipment and reconstruction/manipulation of CT data
