Sr Trade Compliance Analyst – FTZ Administrator

As a Senior Trade Compliance Analyst (FTZ Administrator) here at Honeywell, you will have a significant impact on the company's global operations and success. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, which is crucial for the smooth flow of cross-border transactions. By developing and implementing trade compliance policies and procedures, you will contribute to minimizing risks and avoiding penalties related to import violations.
You will report directly to our Manager, Import Compliance and you’ll work out of our Olathe, Kansas location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will partner with the business, external consultants, the local FTZ board and CBP in securing necessary approvals for zone activation. You will also be actively involved in the rollout of the FTZ software to support zone admissions, entries, recordkeeping, inventory management, etc. In this position, you will help ensure that the admission and importation of goods in the FTZ complies with applicable government rules and regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and submit daily FTZ admissions (e214), follow-up and resolve 214 concurrence messages
- Analyze and prepare weekly estimated entry (CF3461) & prepare weekly Customs entry (CF7501)
- Identify, reconcile, and resolve any inventory issues in a prompt and timely manner
- Ensure FTZ procedures are current and accurate
- Support on site compliance reviews with CBP and provide information as required
- Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to import regulations
- Manage and oversee import and export documentation, including classification and customs documentation
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions
- Provide guidance and facilitate to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters, including training and awareness programs
- Stay up to date with changes in trade regulations and communicate the impact to the organization, ensuring compliance with new requirements
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve trade compliance issues and mitigate risks
- Respond to CBP 28s and 29s
- Continuously evaluate processes for improvements
- Other duties as assigned - depending on status of ongoing projects and support needed on the different areas of trade compliance
