This position reports directly to the Aerospace (Aero) Controller. The position will be responsible for evaluating and refining Aero’s internal controls framework, performing internal control procedures, performing top-down SOX risk assessment, assess the design of overall controls framework, managing remediation of control deficiencies, and conducting risk-based balance sheet reviews (BSR) across Aero entities. The position will partner with business finance to improve financial reporting processes that support its strategic initiatives. Additionally, position will develop and maintain Aero internal control dashboard, support quarterly controls procedures and documentation and participate in special projects which may include process reviews, analytics, acquisition due diligence, integration and divestiture projects.
Key Responsibilities, Deliverables & Expectations:
- Design or improve processes to provide business finance leaders with better visibility into financial data trends, risks and other analytical insights for their respective businesses.
- Design and maintain the Aerospace Risk Control matrix, which includes perform financial and operational risk assessments, monitor risk results, evaluate if controls are adequate to mitigate risks and drive improvement projects. Provide quarterly updates to Aerospace Leadership.
- Plan and perform risk-based balance sheet reviews as part of quarterly close of complex, judgment-based items and drive the Aero BSR process to ensure US GAAP and Corporate BSR Policy compliance.
- Responsible for internal control framework risk assessment and refinement of key control activities and processes, monitoring and testing of internal controls. Coordination of quarterly updates with Honeywell Corporate on review of key control matrix.
- Support continued execution of the controllership transformation model; champion initiatives related to process standardization, automation and internal control process improvements. This includes providing support in the automation of internal control processes (RPA), monitoring control performance and performing / developing data analytic tools.
- Internal audit interface, aid on Aero site audits and support closure of internal audit findings; other audit related metrics in coordination with corporate audit.
- Centralized review of Aero control deficiencies, tracking progress to completion and effective communication to Aero leadership.
- Focused periodic reviews of key account reconciliations, monthly coordination and compilation of account reconciliation scorecard and assessment of e-Rec ratings.
- Interface with external auditors for procedures performed
- Oversee integration of controls and processes for newly acquired businesses.
- Support selected special projects, including strategic initiatives and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Quarterly coordination of Aero Rep Letters and Management Certifications and ensure that Corporate Policies are communicated, including any changes/updates.
