Position Summary:
This position includes providing engineering support with maintenance and development of standard and recently released electronic products. Works closely with other engineering disciplines, internal departments and outside vendors in the realm of (but not limited to) performance, material and process specification, value engineering, assembly and machining improvements and special product features. Coordinates all tasks associated with electronic circuit testing including test setups, prototype preparation, conducting tests, troubleshooting as required, and reporting results.
Job Responsibilities
•Manage engineering changes assigned by design engineers supporting existing products and new product development projects. Such duties to include ordering parts or complete assemblies from both internal and external suppliers, creation of part numbers, bill of materials, material and process specifications, and support configuration of end products.
•Support engineers on new technology and/or new product introduction projects.
•Construct, test, troubleshoot and repair prototype electronic circuits and assemblies from a wide range of components, including surface-mounted devices and microprocessors.
•Manage document changes for schematics, gerber files, test procedures, material and process specifications, mechanical component and assembly drawings.
•Build test fixtures for electronic assemblies and develop associated test procedures and programming instructions.
•Utilize automated test software to measure performance of prototypes. Document and report results.
•Perform some mechanical and optical assembly.
•Interpret agency standards and apply knowledge to assigned products (FM, CSA, IEC, ATEX, etc.).
•Identify cost savings projects and drive these projects to completion providing monthly activity reports to ensure personal goals are met.
