The
position will support the electronics packaging design, development, and
sustainment for our Military Avionics products and applications. You will be responsible for providing leadership
and hands-on execution of mechanical engineering tasks in all phases of the
product life cycle from bid estimation through design, analysis, test, full
rate production implementation, and production sustainment. You will also drive Military Avionics
Mechanical Engineering initiatives to remove waste, improve product quality,
and maximize the value to our Military Avionics customers. In addition to providing Mechanical
Engineering leadership, you will also mentor and help grow junior Military
Avionics Mechanical Engineers. The
selected candidate must demonstrate a technical understanding of mechanical
engineering principles and techniques and work closely with other staff members
to ensure defined requirements and harsh environmental specifications are
consistently met.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Produce optimum and sound Mechanical Engineering solutions to develop new Military Avionics products and to sustain current products.
- Be proficient in CAD solid modeling techniques to prepare component and assembly models and drawings.
- Perform thermal and structural analysis
- Creation, modification, and release of mechanical design artifacts (models, drawings)
- Collaborate on the development of circuit card designs (profile, stackup, thermal/vibration considerations)
- Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit/function.
- Writing test requests, supporting design verification testing, and coordinating with test department.
