The T55 Growth Project Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer as airframe integration systems engineering lead for the T55-714C engine development program. To meet the needs of the marketplace in the face of stiff competition, the team must rapidly develop the new engine to be the best in the marketplace through execution of world class project management.
The airframe integration engineering lead will lead the cross-functional engineering team to flawless integration of the T55-714C engine into the aircraft to be best-in-market under strict schedule constraints. The individual will interface with both internal and external customers. The selected individual will provide leadership for all IPDS functions related to the specific systems assigned, including: schedule, budget, fabrication cost, technical attributes, requirements validation and verification, direct maintenance cost, flight test integration, and qualification. The individual will serve as a mentor and technical leader for the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead design and development activity of the engine/airframe integration through all aspects of the IPDS process on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements. Key aspects include requirements validation and verification, physical and functional interface definition, resolution of key technical challenges, acquisition of development hardware, management of fabrication cost and execution of qualification tasks.
- Manage and define the overall engine interface with the airframe. Develop strong relationships with the airframe OEM and the USG to ensure seamless integration of the T55-714C.
- Act as a mentor and technical leader for the organization..
- Represent Honeywell in the industry or across Honeywell as an expert in the field of gas turbine module or system development and project management.
- Broad indirect span of control of approximately 5 full time equivalent engineers.
- Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $2.0M.
- Investigate broad, complex, and ambiguously defined challenges, rally team consensus around the scope and approach to resolution and lead the team to resolution.
- Expected to serve as the single point leader for the project team
- Single point of contact to the program for the assigned module or system
