We
are seeking a qualified candidate for the Propulsion Technology group within the
Advanced Technology organization. This group is responsible for developing new
technologies for propulsion engines with emphasis on fan/compressor, combustor,
turbines, materials/coatings, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate for this
position would have a strong experience in systems engineering and/or mechanical
design/analysis of turbomachinery components
Responsibilities
- Systems engineering of propulsion engines and related components (fan/compressor/turbines/structures)
- Lead a cross-functional team to design, analyze, manufacture, procure, and test advanced components for propulsion engines
- Lead and execute component rig- and engine- test activities
- Solve technical problems during component design and development
- Interface with procurement, development-shop, and suppliers in the manufacture of prototype hardware
- Lead engineering trade studies and proposal activities
- Assist in creating project plans, including schedules, cost estimates, and develop risk mitigation plans
- Lead customer/internal design reviews and technical interchange meetings with stakeholders (internal and external)
- Ensure technical programs are executed on schedule and budget
- Ensure programs are executed with speed
