Summary:
Performs specialized payroll functions and recommends and implements solutions to payroll problems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processes payroll for semi-monthly salary and hourly weekly payroll
- Prepares payroll journal entries and reconciles account balances with appropriate records
- Resolves employee’s questions and concerns including timesheet issues, deductions, tax changes, and pay
- Ensures adherence to time keeping policies
- Processes all payments for relocation expenses
- Coordinates accounting methods related to payroll and recommended and implements improvements in departmental procedures
- Performs liaison activities with accounting management, internal and external customers
- Reviews and analyzes payroll data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations and DOE orders. Assists in training personnel in various payroll routines and procedures
- Analyzes financial system output and initiates corrections as required
- May perform other duties as required
- Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.
