Summary:
The Sr Quality Supervisor - Receiving Inspection supervises bargaining unit inspection personnel in evaluating the quality of materials and products. Role model for Kansas City Division's core values.
Summary of Duties:
- Mentorship of new supervisors; Support supervisor talent management within department
- May be responsible for managing exempt direct reports (5C or lower level)
- Directly supervises hourly employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Strong understanding of the business and ability to apply concepts with limited direction
- Ownership of onboarding new supervisors and non-exempt new hires
- Coach supervisors to improve departmental performance
- Ability to work independently
- Able to independently resolve most operations issues (customer requirements, facilities issues, technical problems) within set operations parameters, engaging Sr. Management as needed to escalate or revisit based on changing business requirements
- Ownership of departmental metrics, escalading when appropriate
- Utilizes and motivates employees to obtain maximum output in terms of quality and performance
- Ownership of cross-functional projects
- Represent the Quality organization as the departmental subject matter expert
- May include specific training or certification
- Lead cross functional or CI kaizen projects
- Promotes and supports continuous improvement and employee involvement activities
- Interfaces effectively with DOE, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other support organizations
- Utilizes and motivates employees to obtain maximum output in terms of quality and performance
