Summary:

The Software Engineer II in Test Engineering works under moderate supervision and is responsible for a variety of intermediate level software engineering responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develops test procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability
  • Develops application specifications and designs; supports maintenance of applications, as needed
  • Plans engineering testing and development programs using advanced statistical and scientific methods to assure product manufacturability
  • Interacts with design agencies and suppliers to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues
  • Prepares evaluation reports and makes recommendations for and initiates the most cost-effective improvements for test equipment that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
  • Based on research, applies, develops, and recommends innovative methodologies and technologies which are equal to the industry's state of the art to resolve processing and design problems
  • Assists in the design and/or project management of new and current projects under technical guidance of higher-level team members
  • Estimates set-up times and operating times as well as production and acceptance need
  • Evaluates opportunities for defect prevention based on standard practices and recommends preventive corrective actions
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to stop work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
