The Senior Accountant role at Honeywell, part of the Honeywell’s Finance Rotational Leadership program, is an exciting opportunity to manage the UOP accounting function at our UOP headquarters in Des Plaines, IL. The Senior Accountant role, which reports to the Sr. Director, UOP Controller, will have visibility to senior management and requires the ability to effectively collaborate both inside and outside the finance function in a fast-paced environment. This role will be responsible for driving consistency in accounting processes and controls and plays a key role in enhancing the global model providing accounting stewardship and support to all sites. The roles in this program will be offered targeted training and mentorship to support learning and exposure across various financial disciplines and Honeywell processes. Each step of the program will offer development experiences with the intent to offer career progression within the Honeywell Finance organization.
Job Activities:
- Interface with management in various departments, including corporate finance, integrated supply chain, IT and legal on a variety of topics
- Work closely with business unit controllers and UOP commercial finance to ensure overall compliance and ensure strong internal controls environment
- Support mergers and acquisitions due diligence, purchase accounting, and integration planning
- Champion and lead process standardization, automation, quarter/year-end close and internal control improvements
- Material contract reviews providing accounting guidance on revenue recognition treatment
- Analyze, account for, maintain, and work with Finance and Business Partners on complex contracts requiring additional oversight outside of normal processes
- Facilitate various month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
- Perform quarterly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation Analysis
- Support financial statements compliance with US GAAP and Honeywell accounting/internal policies
- Support delivery of technical accounting and policy expertise to the business
- Support other special projects/strategic initiatives as required
