The Senior Controllership Analyst role, as part of a Honeywell’s Finance Rotational Leadership program, will be accountable for financial integrity and reporting of Long-Term Contract Accounting including oversight and analysis of financial results for global sites. This role will be responsible for driving consistency in accounting processes and controls and plays a key role in enhancing the global Project Accounting (PA) model providing accounting stewardship and support to all sites. The roles in this program will be offered targeted training and mentorship to support learning and exposure across various financial disciplines and Honeywell processes. Each step of the program will offer development experiences with the intent to offer career progression within the Honeywell Finance organization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accountable for global financial analysis and review of percentage of completion projects
· Routine accounting close tasks including review and quarterly testing of global Purchase Order (PO) accruals, global contract loss reserve adjustments, reconciliation of Unbilled and Deferred Revenue accounts for North America (NA), ad hoc journal entries, and manual revenue adjustments
· Prepare monthly trend reports to ensure accounting controls function as designed
· Material contract reviews providing accounting guidance on revenue recognition treatment
· Reporting to Finance, Controllership, and Senior Management on significant and/or complex contracts with material financial statement impacts
· Analyze, account for, maintain, and work with Finance and Business Partners on complex contracts requiring additional oversight outside of normal processes
· Provide accounting oversight and guidance to regional PA experts
· Monitor global compliance with PA policies including adjustments
· Drive timely closure of projects; calculate and communicate related revenue impact to Finance
· Respond to financial data and accounting treatment requests from Finance, Business Partners, Project Managers, and Analysts; assist Finance in forecast accuracy initiatives
· Manage day-to-day work processes and utilization of resources across the globe
· Provide project administration support to the order management team including financial review of initial project setup, project release/closure, and monitor project inconsistencies
· Prepare corporate reporting schedules and tax compliance packages for various balance sheet accounts
· Respond to audit requests and inquiries during periodic SOX and compliance testing
· Assist in the implementation of new procedures and systems in response to new US GAAP pronouncements and corporate policy changes
· Assist in SAP go-live and Project Systems setup of new business acquisition, entity, or change in the structure
· Act as Project Accounting subject matter expert in support of special projects as required
