Summary of Duties:
- Performs manufacturing engineering functions on assigned projects with emphasis on optimizing plant operations for each product and eliminating non-value added activities by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies
- Review and evaluate customer requirements, drawings, and documentation with regard to producibility and completeness to recommend changes necessary for estimation and acceptance of project
- Estimate manufacturing labor, material and schedules
- Estimate set-up times, operating times, and flow times
- Recommends manufacturing tooling, equipment and facility improvements to enable product manufacturing
- Assesses product manufacturing capability and capacity to create or recommend changes to overall production strategy including product flow, facilities, tooling, equipment, labor capacity, skills and training
- Coordinate with production services to input BOM, order material and define routing between dept., outside suppliers, inspection, and delivery to customer
- May lead in the project management of new and current projects as requested by PM and approved by resource manager
- Develops product build Instructions and build readiness review checklists, conducts build readiness reviews
- Participates in each MRL level of Production Readiness Assessment
