Summary:
Supervises operations or material distribution departments. Provides team leadership, guidance, and support in the performance of manufacturing, quality, material distribution and production control in areas of small scope and complexity, which have a link to primary production .
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mentorship of new supervisors; Support supervisor talent management within department
- May be responsible for managing exempt direct reports (5C or lower level)
- Directly supervises associates and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Strong understanding of the business and ability to apply concepts with limited direction
- Ownership of on-boarding new supervisors and non-exempt new hires; Coach supervisors to improve departmental performance
- Ability to work independently; Able to independently resolve most operations issues (customer requirements, facilities issues, technical problems) within set operations parameters, engaging Sr. Management as needed to escalate or revisit based on changing business requirements
- Ownership of departmental metrics, escalating when appropriate
- Ownership of updating and improving manufacturing policies; Implements manufacturing policies and delegates and disseminates instructions to staff
- Lead cross functional teams or CI Kaizen projects in support of process improvement initiatives
- Able to independently resolve most manufacturing operations and material distribution issues (customer requirements, material shortages, facilities issues, technical problems) within set operations parameters, engaging Sr. Management as needed to escalate or revisit based on changing business requirements
