At the Honeywell Corporate offices in Charlotte, NC, we are expanding our team with the addition of an US Federal and State Tax Senior Manager. This role is responsible for the management of the section's tax professionals, with additional responsibilities to include US compliance, income tax reporting, planning and assisting with tax audits to maximize tax savings opportunities that contribute to shareholder value while fulfilling tax payment and reporting obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Return Compliance – Accurate reporting of all aspects of US Federal and State income tax returns including federal consolidated groups and unitary/combined state groups. Review alternative tax positions to resolve most appropriate cost-effective filing position. Drive technology and improvements in execution to enhance compliance process. Support Honeywell’s IRS transaction reporting disclosure processes.
- Financial Reporting – Support the accurate preparation of Honeywell’s income tax expense (both current and deferred) for financial statement purposes. Evaluate uncertain tax reporting positions and business combinations to accurately reflect the tax treatment of such items in Honeywell’s financial statements. Contribute to Honeywell’s Sarbanes-Oxley process for financial reporting purposes. Analyze the tax aspects of financial projections and forecasts. Through technology and operational improvements, ensure accurate, timely information provided to Honeywell’s financial reporting group
- Leadership and Teamwork – Lead, mentor, and develop the Federal and State section of the US income tax group. Coordinate and consult with SBG Tax Directors and other tax professionals. Direct external tax advisors on a project-by-project basis
