The Sr. Advanced Wireless Compliance Engineer is responsible for guaranteeing mobility products comply with wireless regulatory country and cellular network carrier requirements of intended markets. Candidate will identify, interpret, apply all applicable regulations; plan, initiate, manage testing and laboratory costs; develop and maintain product certification testing schedule including required documentation for targeted domestic and worldwide markets.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and certification process for wireless consumer devices, for various wireless technologies like GSM/UMTS/LTE, 802.11xx, Wi-Fi, RFID, and Bluetooth.
- Participate on new product development teams as the subject matter expert for regulatory and standards compliance relevant for products that integrate wireless technologies
- Analyze and interpret compliance requirements from multiple sources, with consideration for regional and carrier differences. Ensure compliance requirements are integrated into product design scopes through coordination, documentation, and communication with development teams.
- Prepare technical data packages, and samples where required, for submission and approval by third parties. Meet challenging timelines for certification completion.
- Stay up to date on new and changing wireless/radio compliance regulations and standards. Actively participate in relevant manufacturing and trade associations or other external networks as needed
- Must be familiar with the overall certification process such as device registration, waiver negotiation, and type approval process with the required deliverables to effectively lead the involved and relevant discussions internally and externally with the NA Wireless Cellular Carriers.
- Manage the relationship and communication with the Tier 1 N.A. (Verizon, AT&T, T- Mobile) Wireless Carriers Technical SMEs from the initial engagement to certification activities to Technical Approval from the target cellular carriers.
