JOB SUMMARY
Honigman is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Attorney Recruitment Assistant to join our dynamic Attorney Development and Recruitment team. This position plays a key role in supporting the recruitment and onboarding of legal talent, including law students, lateral attorneys, and summer associates. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting Support
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of the legal recruiting process, including scheduling interviews, collecting candidate materials, and communicating with candidates.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (viRecruit) and ensure accurate and up-to-date candidate records.
- Prepare and distribute recruiting-related correspondence, including offer letters, interview schedules, and follow-up communications.
- Support the planning and execution of “precruiting,” on-campus interview (OCI) programs, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and event logistics.
- Help organize firm-hosted recruiting events, such as receptions and networking activities.
Onboarding and Integration
- Coordinate pre-employment processes for new hires, including background checks and conflicts checks.
- Assist in preparing orientation schedules and materials for new associates and summer associates.
- Function as a point of contact for incoming hires, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
Summer Associate Program
- Provide administrative support for the summer associate program, including event planning, tracking assignments, and gathering feedback.
- Assist with coordinating summer associate reviews and mid-summer/end-of-summer evaluations.
General Administrative Support
- Prepare reports and summaries related to recruiting metrics and initiatives.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries about the recruiting process in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with team members on department projects and initiatives as needed.
- Assist with updating and maintaining various department tracking documents.
- Process expenses, invoices, and check requests through Chrome River.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in legal recruiting, human resources, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Independent, self-motivated, and the ability to take initiative on tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with recruiting software or applicant tracking systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime as necessary to meet business needs.
