What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Entry Level position at Honolulu Cookie Company?
We're looking for someone who has general maintenance experience and is action-oriented and highly dependable to join our Maintenance team.
General responsibilities of this position:
- Foster a sense of teamwork and collaboration by cultivating a culture aligned with Company values
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. Handles installations such as: Office equipment, lighting, ventilation systems, minor plumbing, low & high voltage electrical systems
- Monitor/ensure equipment is in continuous operational condition, performs preventive maintenance inspections, calibrates equipment daily to specifications and makes recommendations for safety and efficiency
- Supports with completing projects/work orders promptly and effectively
- Respond to emergency work orders and special projects as assigned
- Completes all required paperwork for compliance and safety protocols
Candidate Requirements:
- 1-2 years building maintenance experience, preferably factory/manufacturing environment
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Hawaii Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Able to routinely lift 40lbs and occasionally lift/maneuver up to 60lbs
- Able to work from 5a-10:30p, 7 days a week due to shift rotations
Physical Demands of the Position:
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift and use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, carry, and reach
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, grasping, bending, stooping, and squatting and some repetitive motions
- Routinely lift and maneuver at least 40 lbs., and occasionally lift and maneuver up to 60 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision 20 inches or less, (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers. Distance vision of 20 feet or more (not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Peripheral vision observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
- Specific hearing abilities include the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., forklifts, packaging, machinery alarms), medical codes or alarms and communication purposes
- Required to wear protective gear (uniform), including gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, hearing protection, hairnets, beard nets, etc.
- Will work inside and outside a typical industrial facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, outside grounds, variations in temperature, sounds (decibels), odors, humidity, dust and elevations. Some areas are often hot with steam from oven and vapor
- Travel required between worksites
