SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE.
Loan Processing and Servicing: Assists with various loan processing activities as assigned from consumer and mortgage loan department:
Prepares loan information packages and submits files into systems.
Validates loan application information and calculates qualifying income. Enters data on application and loan processing system.
Retains electronic images of all documents procured throughout the loan origination process.
Loan Documentation: Responsible for preparing and reviewing loan documents.
Creates and maintains documentation files, collateral documentation and paid files.
Ensures documents requested comply with credit union policy and document packages are complete to minimize risk of loss to the credit union.
Maintains records of incoming and outgoing automobile titles. Receives and verifies all auto insurance binders and policies and scans to insurance consultants.
Maintains records of hurricane and homeowners’ insurance policies and cancellations and scans to insurance consultants.
Loan Servicing: Responsible for loan servicing, on-going customer service, billing, and payment processing.
Manages members’ inquiries and requests timely and efficiently.
Updates monthly data received from insurance consultants, charges respective accounts, recalculates repayment on loans and notifies member. Checks data records for loans paid in full and returns necessary documents.
Files debt protection, GAP and MRC claims upon receipt.
Processes payment options, including, but not limited to, payroll transfers, direct deposits, and automatic transfers and credits member loan accounts. Notifies operations department of distribution. Provides information on home equity loans and processes release of mortgages.
Closing:
Following approval, prepares and submits loan closing packets, ensuring policies and procedures followed with complete documentation, insurance and guarantee functions as applicable prior to disbursing loan proceeds.
Conducts post-closing review to ensure loans properly executed.
Assists with disbursement of loans and ensures loans processed timely.
Provides information concerning credit union services, function of the credit union, eligibility for membership and various types of accounts, loans and rates. Provides information on services such as debt protection, credit life, GAP and MRC coverage as directed.
Provides administrative support to department, including but not limited to, answering phones, retrieving and opening mail, typing, data entry, preparing documents, faxing, photocopying, file organization and retention and filing. Must demonstrate commitment to member service, dependability and respect for other employees with regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability.
Performs all other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities.
Physical Demands: Sitting/standing for continuous periods up to four (4) hours without break. Use of vision, hearing, speech, and working with hands. Some stooping, kneeling and lifting (25-30 lbs.) and carrying.
Working Condition: Air-conditioned office. Requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator, telephone and postage meter).
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or similar approved diploma program i.e. CBCDSP and six (6) months progressive experience in financial services or comparable industry, OR six (6) months post-secondary college from an accredited educational institution.
Experience:
Six (6) months progressive experience in financial services or comparable industry, including cash handling and customer service experience. Basic knowledge of banking products, services and operations preferred. Knowledge of financial institution regulations such as anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act and applicable laws and regulatory requirements preferred.
Technical:
Ability to use personal computers, including Microsoft Office software, including, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word and Excel. Ability to develop usage of credit union systems. Basic mathematical accuracy, use of calculator by touch and light typing.
Other:
Developing basic ability to identify and resolve problems, and manage tasks accurately and efficiently. Attention to detail and organization to prioritize and meet deadlines. Good communication skills, including verbal, written and listening, to all levels of staff and customers, with tact and diplomacy. Demonstrated dependability and punctuality. Performs tasks under supervision.
