Honor Community Health is a 501c3 Federally Qualified Health Center co-located within 20 locations. Our mission is to provide for the health and wellness needs of the underserved of Oakland County through the provision of comprehensive, integrated primary, behavioral health, and dental care. Position Description
Reporting to the Manager of Revenue Cycle, the full-time, non-exempt Billing Specialist I plays a vital role as a member of a highly efficient healthcare team. This individual provides office and billing support for clinical operations. Billing Specialist I will work collaboratively to establish and uphold a culture of excellence and commitment to delivering compassionate and high-quality healthcare to all.
What are we looking for?
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Medical Insurance Billing Certificate or associate degree in related field preferred.
- Must complete Billing certificate program within 12 months of hire (company paid).
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-9/10 required.
- 2 years professional billing experience preferred.
- FQHC specific billing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of health plan policy and procedure manuals preferred.
