We are looking for a reliable Construction Manager Superintendent to supervise national commercial construction projects. Honor Construction & Development is a Michigan-based construction management company specializing in mid-to-large scale commercial projects. Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Build and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in completing a project – Honor and design teams, clients and inspectors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and validate scope and costs.
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage the daily construction activities and project resources.
- Communicate effectively to guide and direct field employees, subcontractors, and suppliers. Lead weekly job site meetings with subcontractors for safety and project progress.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Oversee all construction to monitor for quality and compliance with building and safety regulations. Continually analyze, manage, and mitigate potential risks on site.
- Review the work progress daily and complete daily reports. Communicate progress daily to Project Manager.
- Collaborate with PM on all details of the project and support PM in weekly client meetings.
- Meet schedule and other contractual conditions of performance
- Create RFIs and Change Events in Procore. Collaborate with clients, Honor and design teams Clients to resolve.
- Obtain permits and licenses when necessary
- Travel to locations outside the state of Michigan.
Requirements of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum of 5 years of proven and verifiable working experience in construction management.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, MS Projects, Google Suite, and Procore.
- Strong computer skills including scheduling, emailing, document management and organization using MS and Procore programs
- Strong professional and effective communication skills, including both written communication and in-person or virtual meetings.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards and the ability to learn new local requirements.
- Excellent time and project management skills necessary to manage multiple projects and subcontractors on each project.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and plan accordingly to meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify potential problems and create a strategy to resolve.
- Competence in crisis management and conflict resolution.
- Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude and communicate confidently, effectively, and respectfully.
- Desire to collaborate with the whole Honor Team to continually improve the construction management services provided to clients.
- BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- Driver’s License
- Satisfactory background check and drug testing
Position Details
- Full-time travel is required. Areas may include Midwest, South, Northeast, and Southeast
- Travel and accommodation costs covered plus per diem for meals
