What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd shift Maintenance Tech position at Hood Container Corporation?
What We’re Searching for:
An experienced 2nd shift Maintenance Technician for our Allentown PA plant. This position is responsible for keeping Hood Container facilities operational by performing a wide range of repair tasks. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of conduct set forth by the Company and staying current on all new OSHA regulations and safety trends.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
How you will contribute:
- Ensure safe operation of plant equipment both electrically and mechanically by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring, and testing instruments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Oversee the applications for and receipt of necessary permits.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Overtime may be required.
What it takes:
- Minimum of 3 years production maintenance experience and/or training in a production environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Read an electrical meter, use a tape measure or other measuring devices
- Read schematics.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems.
- Knowledge and the ability to use power tools.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and Electrical skills.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Troubleshooting skills
