Primary Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of all employees, lead a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries. Comply with all federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Assist with the hiring of and then responsible for training, directing and mentoring department employees.
- Develop subordinates through education, training and teamwork.
- Lead corrugator department in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Meet or exceed productivity, cost, or other performance metric expectations as outlined by plant manager.
- Ensure employees complete required safety and quality checks and audits.
- Ensure preventive maintenance program is maintained and reviewed periodically for improvements and/or upgrades as needed.
- Build and maintain productive employee relationships, driving employee satisfaction. Provide coaching, counseling, or discipline as needed. Recommend disciplinary action to plant manager and review disciplinary actions for effectiveness and consistency. Work with HR to address employee concerns and issues.
- Prepare shift documentation: reports, employees’ time and attendance, etc.
- Requirements/Qualifications:
- Four-year degree preferred.
- Computer experience required.
- Willing and capable of adapting to new/different systems as needed to maintain manufacturing data; ie: Kiwi, Amtek, etc.
- Strong leadership characteristics bringing at least three (3) years’ experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires an excellent work record and good attendance performance.
- Experience in the Packaging and Paper industry is preferred
