Major Areas Of Responsibilities
- Manufacture Corrugated Cartons.
- Responsible for the machine crews’ daily activities, accountable for machine and crew performance as they relate to waste, efficiency and quality and uptime objectives.
- Will direct the work of the machine crew and provide training for new team members.
- Corrugator or Converting machine experience (Flexo Folder Gluer, Rotary Die Cutter, Flat Bed Die Cutter, Specialty Folder Gluer and/or Litho Laminator Operators).
- Proven track record of improving machine efficiencies in a production environment.
- Experience in corrugated packaging environments.
- Proven process control background.
- computer literacy skills necessary.
- Demonstrated analytical experience.
- Experience with equipment operation and safety guidelines.
- Must be team-oriented, organized, detailed, and able to perform some physical activities.
- Must be willing to work overt-time and weekends when required.
- Must be able to stand unassisted for up to 12 hours per day while wearing safety shoes.
- Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, twist, and reach around equipment and obstacles unassisted as needed. Must be able to read and understand a tape measure (imperial units of measure) and basic math (including fractions).
- Should have basic knowledge of how to operate windows-based computers.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift oversized sheets and boxes from chest to ground level.
- Must be able to wear protective equipment for extended periods of time including: Gloves, Sleeves, safety glasses, googles, steel toed shoes, face masks, ear plugs.
- Must have the ability to climb stairs and work on elevated platforms.
- Must be able to reach the ground unassisted.
- Must be able to communicate in loud working environments while wearing all required PPE.
- Must be able to work in warehouse that is not climate controlled for up to 12 hrs. per day. Ambient temperatures can range from 40 – 115 degrees.
- Must have reliable means to get to work each day.
- Must be able to wash hands multiple times per day with antibacterial hand soap.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed (up to 12 hours per day. Up to 7 days per week).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces.
- Must have a basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and sanitization measures.
- Must be able to cross conveyor systems on narrow walking platforms (4” wide).
- Should have good spatial recognition and deductive reasoning.
- Previous (6 months or more) machine operator experience preferred.
