What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Hood Container Corporation?
We are seeking an experienced Logistic Forklift Operator for our Owensboro Plant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products are loaded onto trailers with minimal defects and damage. As a Logistics Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in one of the most important departments within our manufacturing system.
How You Will Contribute :
- Operation and care of forklifts in a safe manner. Must be qualified to operate the forklift properly.
- Complete and document a forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating any forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
- Locate stock to be loaded.
- Load trailers as needed for timely deliveries.
- Remove finished goods from the main line as needed.
- Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
- Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery in an efficient and safe manner.
- Adheres to the daily shipping schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to : Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator certification that is done through Hood Container Corporation.
