Plant Manager

Hood Container Corporation is looking for a dynamic leader to join our team as a Multi-Plant Manager for our Owensboro and Bowling Green, KY plants. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our Packaging Services plants, providing technical guidance and aligning operational and team plans. Your focus will be on achieving both short- and long-term goals related to safety, quality, production, and customer satisfaction.

How You Will Contribute

• Lead and engage in the entire operation of the plant, including safety, quality, production, maintenance, shipping & receiving, consistent with our Servant Leadership Culture
• Develop and execute operational strategies by working with all levels of the organization to ensure that company goals in safety, quality, productivity, customer service, and cost are met
• Set/adjust plant priorities and make decisions to meet fast-paced and dynamic business and customers’ demands
• Provide guidance and partner with managers on staffing, training, employee relations, and performance management to develop salaried & hourly team members
• Continuously keep up to date on current organizational and industry knowledge/practices and provide technical guidance for operations
• Manage P&L to control manufacturing and conversion costs within budgetary limits to ensure profitable long-term growth
• Value safety as a top priority and work closely with the safety department to enhance current safety protocols and procedures
• Support the “One Hood” integration initiative by working closely with business unit leaders to identify and implement improvements and advancements
  
  

What It Takes

• Financial management, capital management, and budget knowledge, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze financial data
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field OR Equivalent Work Experience
• Five or more years of experience working in the packaging or contract services industry, corrugated industry a plus
• Five or more years of operational leadership experience leading manufacturing processes, safety, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement
