What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk position at Hood Container Corporation?
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process by working directly with the Shipping Manager and Shipping Supervisors (1st & 2nd Shift) to ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be willing to perform a variety of duties, as described below, to assist in ensuring the success of the Shipping Department and the on-time delivery our customers expect.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
1) Use Amtech (computer software) and Microsoft Office to maintain shipping documents, activity logs, and daily / weekly activity reports.
2) Maintain positive customer, vendor, and coworker relationships.
3) Assist Shipping Manager and Shipping 1st shift and 2nd shift Supervisors in the successful completion of customer orders.
4) Use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook to communicate order status, relay messages, etc.
5) Deliver to local customers with box truck when needed.
6) Drive Yard Dog.
7) Know the status of all trucks and paperwork when printed, provide CDL drivers with paperwork, document loaded trailers with photos.
8) Resolve issues with printed paperwork and communicate those issues to Management and Supervisors to ensure on-time deliveries.
9) Back-Up support for Shipping Supervisor, material handlers, forklift drivers, inventory control, and finished goods
10) Maintain and Organize shipping supplies, for example pallets, office supplies, etc.
11) Other tasks assigned, such as addressing issues with computers, locks, and scanners
12) Loading and unloading of pallet trailers
13) Loading and unloading of warehouse trailer
