Definition
Performs all functions necessary to complete transactions regarding motor vehicle, boat and boat motor title transfers and registrations, timed permits, handicap parking placards and license plates, and accepting payments.
Examples of Important Responsibilities and Duties—Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
1. Complete motor vehicle, boat and boat motor title transfers in person and by mail; checking all paperwork submitted to assure everything is complete, entering data into computer, computing fees necessary for transaction, and collecting appropriate fees.
2. Complete vehicle and boat registrations in person and by mail; checking paperwork and fees for accuracy; issuing registration stickers/decals and collecting the appropriate fees.
3. Maintains and balances cash drawer to receipts each day.
4. Answering the telephone; assisting customers with questions and providing fee estimates for title transactions and registrations.
Other important duties and responsibilities
1. Filing
2. Restocking license plates, paper, forms and supplies
3. Shredding
4. Minor cleaning (Emptying shredder, dusting, etc.)
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
1. Computers
2. Printers
3. Adding Machine
4. Cash Drawer
5. Copier
6. General office procedures

8. Credit Card Machines
Required Skills:
1. Good computer skills/data entry
2. Good telephone etiquette
3. Filing
4. Good reading comprehension
5. Letter writing/correspondence
6. Must enjoy interacting with the public and be able to communicate effectively; good customer service skills are an absolute must
7. Must be detail oriented
8. Cash handling; must be able to make change and balance cash drawer
Experience and Training Guidelines:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to:

4. Communicate with customers, providing alternatives and referrals
5. Answer questions completely and confidently

Working Conditions
Environmental Conditions:
Normal office environment with controlled heating, cooling and fluorescent lighting.
Physical Conditions:
A normal workday involves sitting at a computer for long periods of time while processing transactions for customers, answering the telephone, and occasionally lifting boxes of license plates and paper weighing about 25 pounds per box. The overall physical strength demands are light to medium.
