An "A&D Spec Rep Manager" oversees a team of sales representatives focused on securing product specifications from architects and designers (A&D community), primarily by building strong relationships with key industry players, presenting product solutions, and ensuring their company's products are specified in construction projects, ultimately driving sales growth within the architectural and design market.
The successful candidate should have experience in the following areas:
- Team Leadership-Manage and motivate a team of A&D specification representatives, setting sales goals, coaching performance, and providing ongoing training on product knowledge, market trends, and sales strategies.
- Relationship Building- Foster strong relationships with key decision-makers in the A&D community, including architects, interior designers, engineers, and project developers to identify potential project opportunities.
- Market Analysis-Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry regulations to identify new business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Project Management-Track project pipelines, identify critical project phases, and coordinate with the sales team to ensure timely product specification and successful project closure.
- Product Expertise-Deep understanding of the company's product portfolio, including features, benefits, and applications, to effectively present solutions to clients.
- Presentation Skills-Deliver compelling product presentations to architects, designers, and other stakeholders, highlighting the value proposition and differentiating features of the company's products.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting- Develop sales forecasts, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to senior management on sales progress and market insights.
