Hood Distribution is looking for an Operations Manager for its Millersburg, OH area. This position reports directly to the General Operations Manager and is responsible for the supervision of 6-8 warehouse staff and 3-5 drivers. Inventory management and procedural controls are the major responsibilities of the position.
The successful candidate should have experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics etc. in wood products or related fields. Specific knowledge of safe fleet operations and warehouse operations is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
• The candidate will manage overall warehouse operations, including inbound inventory receiving processing of reports, delivery driver schedules and inventory management.
• The candidate will also manage routine maintenance and necessary repairs on warehouse equipment, trucks, overseeing DOT compliance, etc.
• The candidate would be the point of contact in communicating intercompany inventory transfers and material processing.
• The candidate would provide supervisory guidance, coaching and training to center employees. Assure that all employees receive proper training and maintain their skills in equipment operation. Make all employees safety minded and execute monthly safety meetings.
• The candidate will ensure that all drivers are properly licensed, trained, and observe safe driving and loading/unload practices.

Job Preferences/Qualifications:
• Experience in warehouse operations, distribution, logistics etc. in wood products or related field. Knowledge in wood finishes and stains a plus.
• Specific knowledge of safe fleet operations and warehouse operations is essential.
• Forklift operator/trainer certification is preferred but not required.
• Prior warehouse management experience to include hiring and terminations.
• Shipping and receiving experience.
• Basic computer skills required. ERP system familiarity, Microsoft Word/Excel is preferred
• Specific knowledge of safe fleet operations and warehouse operations is essential.
