We are looking for a Maintenance Planner for our Lumber manufacturing operation in Waynesboro, MS. This position is responsible for developing and managing maintenance activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring efficient and reliable operation of equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and interface with various departments to ensure all maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled, documented, and executed (preventive/predictive maintenance and word orders).
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards during all maintenance activities.
- Develop and modify maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintains Guardian Web (CMMS) for managing and tracking work orders, work requests, PMs, employee registry, equipment tree, parts lists, and cost lists.
- Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to achieve and sustain optimum mill reliability and performance.
- Works with Maintenance Supervisors to schedule maintenance staff and resources for the most effective use of maintenance and production time.
- Organize, plan, and kit all work orders and PM parts, resources, tools, etc.
- Responsible for reviewing work orders for completeness/all required information.
- Work with maintenance and production on the management of additions, deletions or modifications to PM procedures as changes occur. Maintains and ensures accuracy of the CMMS.
- Maintain all plans, procedures, SOPs, JHAs, and all other documentations necessary for safe and proper performance of maintenance activities.
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and production teams to plan and execute jobs.
- Responsible for analyzing and managing backlog data.
- Organize and lead all maintenance planning and scheduling meetings.
- Generate and distribute all maintenance documentation: Work Orders and PMs, Maintenance Wrench Time Schedules, Planning and Scheduling Meeting materials, and KPI reports.
- High school diploma/GED required with preferred technical school or college degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to be flexible and to change priorities and direction as needed.
- Work in a self-directed work environment.
- General knowledge of maintenance work processes.
- Familiar with industrial plant equipment and specifications.
- Experience and knowledge working with a CMMS system.
- Effective computer skills including Microsoft Office including accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work weekends and/or extended daily schedules depending on the mills' operating schedules and/or projects.
