Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include plywood and lumber manufacturing plants. Twenty-four of our specialty wood product distribution operations are located in eighteen states serving the northeast.
We are seeking a skilled Millwright position at our sawmill located in Waynesboro, MS. You will be responsible for maintaining the sawmill and mechanical equipment. If you have experience working in manufacturing, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic/pneumatic systems, gears, reducers, bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, and valves.
• Cut, weld, and fabricate components as needed.
• Assist electricians and other maintenance personnel as needed.
• Assist equipment operators as necessary and may provide operator relief for operation of process equipment.
• Assist with clean-up mill wide.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed repair drawings related to sawmill equipment and machinery.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment when required for repair.
Education and Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience as a millwright.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Maintenance experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or other industrial environment.
• Ability to understand, clearly communicate, and follow all safety rules and policies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand, eye, and foot coordination.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Testing Requirements:
• Must be able to pass mechanical knowledge test and hands on assessment.
Physical Requirements:
• Performs tasks such as walking, climbing steps/ladders, sitting, and standing for long periods.
• Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Ability to work outside in all conditions, in and around loud equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.
